Bouncer charged after ‘breaking teen’s jaw in headlock’

A Perth bouncer is accused of breaking a teenager’s jaw in a violent nightclub attack early Sunday morning.

A doorman working at a Perth nightclub has been charged with grievous bodily harm after injuring Mitchell Clarke whilst removing him from a premise.

The 48 year old bouncer who was apparently twice the size of the 19 year old patron put him into a headlock whilst ejecting him. It is reported that the force of that headlock was so intense the patrons jaw was allegedly broken in three places and eight of his teeth were shattered.

It is vital as a service provider that your staff are fully aware of their legal obligations and the parameters that they operate in. Business owners cannot be in all places at once, so they must ensure a robust supervision and training program that limits their liability and protects their employees and clients.
